MELT & POUR GLYCERIN SOAP

I love making glycerin soap because it is super easy and you can use it same day! This recipe is modified from http://www.soaprecipes101.com/homemade-soap-recipes/glycerin-soap-recipe/.

Here is what you will need:

  • 4oz Soap base (I use www.ourearths.com)

  • 1 Tbl Shea or Mango butter

  • 10 drops Essential Oils of choice

  • Kitchen Scale

  • Cutting board, knife and spoon

  • Double boiler (I use a pot with a metal bowl on top - make sure the bowl is not too big or too small, the water in the pot should not touch the bowl)

  • Soap Mold (can be found at most craft stores)

To make your soap:

  1. Set up your double boiler on the stove with water in the pot (water about 1/4 full in pot, the water should not be touching your metal bowl). Turn burner to medium and bring water to a boil, then reduce heat to low.

  2. Cube about 4oz of the melt & pour soap base (the smaller the better so they will melt evenly and quickly).

  3. Add melt & pour soap base along with the Mango or Shea butter to the double boiler.

  4. Melt completely then remove from heat.

  5. Add essential oil and stir.

  6. Pour into molds and let set.

  7. Once fully set, remove from molds and ENJOY!
