Hand Balancing Workshop
Facilitated By: Meg Newlin
If you love the play of practice, then this workshop is for you. If you love to stand on your hands, this workshop is also for you. And if you cannot imagine how you might ever possibly begin to even consider standing on your hands, then this workshop may very well be for you too. Yoga is relational, and hand (or arm) balances are no exception. They often appear in the transition between one posture and another and, as such, function as a conversation, a dynamic interplay between one shape and the next. During our time together, we will explore ways to practice the prep, and even the poses, without ever standing on our hands. At the other end of the spectrum, we will investigate many of the different ways to move into and out of hand balances: from seated, from standing, from Downward-Facing Dog, and even from headstand. This workshop will run the gamut with plenty of possibility for meeting most folks where they are at while inviting a little bit more for the sake of the ongoing conversation of yoga. Space is limited. Sign up for in-person or Zoom.
Sliding Scale: $40-60
Payment due at time of workshop cash, check or Venmo.
